Geopolymer construction systems

Aftercement

Next-generation construction materials — without Portland cement. For the environments where concrete falls apart.

Cement has limits. We make the material that begins past them.

Geopolymers are alkali-activated binder systems: an aluminosilicate matrix activated with alkali silicates, without a single gram of Portland cement. The raw materials are industrial by-product streams. The activator is produced on site.

The limit

Four limits
of concrete

Concrete does not fail gradually. It has points beyond which its own chemistry turns against it. Here is where they are — and how far we carry on.

Working range
of concrete
573 °C · quartz α→β THERM-D
up to 1600 °C
20 °C1600 °C

At 573 °C the quartz in concrete undergoes a phase transition and changes volume — the matrix destroys itself from within. That is why THERM-D contains no quartz aggregate. Potassium silicate chemistry and non-quartz fillers: the matrix keeps working where concrete has already cracked.

Application
Refractory linings, chimneys and flues, structural fire protection, metallurgy.
Working range
of concrete
pH 6 · Ca(OH)₂ dissolves CHEM-D
down to pH 2
pH 14 · alkalinepH 0 · acidic

Hardened Portland cement paste is built from calcium hydroxide and C-S-H phases — both dissolve in acid. Below pH 6 the matrix starts to leach away, quite literally grain by grain. A geopolymer is an aluminosilicate network with no free calcium hydroxide: there is nothing left to carry off. CHEM-D works across the entire pH 2–13 range.

Application
Chemical, mining and food industry — tanks, bunding, foundations. Wherever concrete is replaced every two to four years.
XA1 – XA3
per EN 206
6,000 mg/l · end of XA3 HYDRO-D
beyond the scale
0 mg/l SO₄²⁻10,000 mg/l

EN 206 covers chemical attack up to class XA3 — roughly 6,000 mg/l of sulfates. Above that the standard simply has no answer. In a sewer, sulfate-reducing bacteria convert hydrogen sulfide into sulfuric acid at the crown; it attacks the portlandite and forms ettringite, which expands the matrix from within. No portlandite, no ettringite — in HYDRO-D the mechanism of destruction is absent altogether.

Application
Treatment plants, sewers, reservoirs. Biogenic sulfuric corrosion — the most expensive enemy of water infrastructure.
Standard
industrial floor
C30/37 · 37 MPa UHPC-D
> 60 MPa
0 MPa80 MPa

A floor does not wear down in depth, it wears at the surface. In C30/37 the cement paste around the aggregate is the softer component: it abrades first, the grains are exposed and break out, and the forklift route turns into a rut. UHPC-D builds a dense matrix above 60 MPa in which binder and aggregate wear at the same rate — the surface stays flat.

Application
Industrial floors under heavy traffic, wear-resistant screeds, machine foundations.

Portfolio

Four systems,
one chemistry

HYDRO-D

Watertight screeds and coatings for reservoirs, wastewater plants and sewer infrastructure.

UHPC-D

High-strength formulations for pavement repair, wear-resistant elements and machine foundations.

CHEM-D

Acid-resistant coatings and screeds for the chemical, mining and food industries.

THERM-D

Refractory matrix for linings, chimneys and fire protection at service temperatures of 900–1600 °C.

Technology

water

Conventional geopolymers are two-component: a dry mix plus a liquid corrosive activator the customer has to dose on site. Our format is single-component — the activator is already in the powder.

Activator

Liquid corrosive solution, separate packaging, dangerous goods

In the powder. One SKU.

On site

Trained crew, PPE, two-part dosing

A standard mixer.

Packaging

Two streams, limited shelf life of the liquid part

Valve bag with barrier layer.

Channel

Specialist applicators only

Distribution, trade, export.

A geopolymer that
handles like a cement mix.

Contact

From the brief
to the batch

ROCKLAST is a manufacturer, not a retailer. We work on projects of industrial scale — from the technical brief to the dispatched batch. Write to us when you have a project.

01

The brief

Environment, temperature, load, area. Four lines are enough for us to answer with substance.

02

The specification

A technologist selects the system and gives consumption, thickness and application method. No generalities.

03

The batch

Production and dispatch from the Stara Zagora facility, on an agreed schedule.
